My Favorite Hidden Gem in Greece for Summer 2026

Since I was 6 months old I've been exploring Greece. Over the past few years I've focused my adventures on the less traveled corners, wanting to expand my knowledge and offer clients alternatives to the classics. So this year, I finally made it to the Peloponnese, a region that is starting to get more visibility with the introduction of some iconic luxury hotel brands.

As expected, I fell completely in love. With its easy accessibility, just a 3-hour scenic drive from Athens, and its diverse offering of activities, it truly feels like the perfect elevated Greek destination. From the majestic ancient ruins of Odysseus to the crystal clear waters of the coast, the region’s history and natural beauty are unmatched.

Costa Navarino

While there are many regions of the Peloponnese to explore, I spent most of my time in Costa Navarino. A stunning coastal destination in the southwest known for its recent development and opening of four iconic properties each offering something unique. And, of course, you get my perks when booking any of these properties with me:

  • 🇬🇷 Complimentary daily breakfast for two

  • 🇬🇷 Room upgrades upon availability at check-in

  • 🇬🇷 $100 resort credit to use at the spa or on dining

  • 🇬🇷 Early check-in & late check-out whenever possible

  • 🇬🇷 VIP welcome amenities & special touches on arrival

Our Favorite nearby activities

Whether you’re tasting local wines, exploring medieval castles, or soaking up the sun on hidden beaches, there are endless ways to slow down and connect with authentic Greek life just simple drives away from the hotel.

  • Relax at Voidokilia Beach- Swim in turquoise waters framed by a perfect “Ω” curve and stay for the magical sunset views.

  • Methoni Castle- Walk the dramatic Venetian fortifications and towers with panoramic views over the Ionian Sea.

  • Wander Pylos & Kardamyli- Charming coastal towns known for stone houses, bakeries, and laid-back seaside life.

  • Explore one of Greece’s top wine regions and taste bold reds like Agiorgitiko among ancient vineyards.

  • Visit family-run olive farms such as Ben Olive Mill or Venus Olive Oil for tastings, tours, and true Greek hospitality.

A Taste of the Peloponnese

Costa Navarino is a feast for the senses, from seaside tavernas to elegant resort restaurants, every meal celebrates local ingredients and authentic Greek hospitality.

  • Barbouni (Costa Navarino)- Fresh seafood, toes-in-the-sand dining, and laid-back seaside elegance.

  • Koukos Wine Restaurant (Pylos)- Refined pairings of Greek wines and local dishes — perfect for a slow, flavorful evening.

  • Guacana (Navarino Agora)- Lively Peruvian-inspired spot with creative plates and great cocktails. Fun and buzzy after dark.

  • Elia (Gialova)- Family-run favorite serving authentic regional dishes — from grilled fish to homemade keftethes (my favorite!).

Páme Quick Tips

  • Rent a car and enjoy the adventure. It’s the easiest way to explore & the drive is smooth, mostly along a toll road (yes, you can even pay with Apple Pay!).

  • Pair it with Athens. Fly roundtrip into Athens and skip internal flights - more affordable, less stress, & more time to enjoy.

  • Add another region of the Peloponnese. Don’t miss Amanzoe near Porto Heli and the Poseidonion Grand Hotel on the island of Spetses.

  • Get out on the water. A private boat day is a must - explore hidden coves and spot over 89 shipwrecks. The first dates back to 426 BCE when the Athenian fleet destroyed the Spartan - how wild?!
